- Enter through Yongning Gate (South Gate, 永宁门), the most popular entrance with the best visitor facilities
- Renting a bicycle is one of the most recommended ways to experience the entire wall
- Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, especially during summer
- If visiting in the evening, stay for the illuminated views and occasional cultural performances near the South Gate.

Note
Ticket price: 54 元. Due to the "Welcoming Ceremony" (July 4th - August 31st) and "Dream of Chang'an - Grand Tang Dynasty Welcoming Ceremony" (July 1st - November 1st) performances at the Xi'an City Wall, the south entrance of Yongning Gate will be closed before 10:00 AM and after 7:00 PM on performance days (Tuesday to Sunday).
