Qili Shantang/Shantang Street / 七里山塘景区
Qili Shantang, commonly known as Shantang Street, is one of Suzhou's most famous historic canal streets. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty by the poet and governor Bai Juyi, it stretches about seven li (approximately 3.6 km), giving rise to its name. The street features whitewashed houses, stone bridges, canals, traditional shops, local snacks, and boat rides, making it one of the best-preserved historic districts in Jiangnan.
